DJ Klassik
DJ Khris, aka Klassik, is regarded as one of the pioneers who helped bring Hip-Hop, Reggae and Classic Soul to the South Beach nightlife scene in the early ’90s.
Known for using music to both move and educate the crowd, Klassik created the respected mixtape series “W.G.O.D. in Miami 77.7” in 1997, formatted as a radio station and featuring support from artists including Wu-Tang Clan, Keith Murray, Common, Black Thought and Afrika Bambaataa.
Over the years, he has continued to evolve his sound, blending contemporary Hip-Hop with the boom bap foundation he came up on.
His career has included work in Miami radio, appearances alongside artists and DJs such as KRS-One, Mobb Deep, Maseo, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and 9th Wonder, and countless nights behind the decks throughout South Florida.
Decades into the game, Klassik continues to represent the connection between Miami nightlife, Hip-Hop history and the music that built the culture.
